They will be setting up from 08:30 on Lincoln High Street, between Marks & Spencer’s and The Waterside Shopping Centre.
The pair will be treating Christmas shoppers with their own take on old classics and modern hits.
Mollie and Will approached The Nomad Trust with their idea;
“Back in Summer we came up with the idea to busk for a day, to fund a big supermarket shop and give food out to those we thought to be homeless…” explains guitarist, Will.
“We were told about non-homeless people on the streets, and even people travelling in to Lincoln to beg, so we thought it better to join up with a local charity as a way to make sure we support those who are genuinely in need.”
“I always feel so sorry for them when we’re out busking” says Mollie.
She recalled one homeless person she met who asked for 50p to buy food – “I gave him £1 and he went running straight in to the nearest McDonalds and bought a burger…”
“It feels great giving someone a sandwich or a nice warm drink. It’d be even better to give them a bed for the night.”
Will added; “We’re young, local musicians – the community has supported us so much, so we wanted to give something back.”
“We didn’t know much about The Nomad Trust before we started looking for a charity to partner with, so we want to show what support is there for the homeless and raise awareness of how The Nomad Trust is tackling this issue.”
